'Dale, Dale, Dale!' is a portrait from a series of illustrations that explores the neighborhood of Westlake in Los Angeles, California. The focus of the series is on how local families and businesses are adapting to the many changes in the community as a result of gentrification.

Research for this project included interviewing my neighbors and local small business owners. The portrait of ‘Dale, Dale, Dale!’ was inspired by an interview with the local Carniceria that started renting out their parking lot for birthday parties to bring in extra funds.
